Increase your speed, agility, and strength through a variety of training methods that will be an efficient and effective way to improve your cardiovascular system, lose weight and build muscle. Boot camp is a great way to challenge your body and reach your goals in a fun, refreshing outdoor setting. This workout will be a combination of body weight exercises and high intensity cardio drills to build muscle and get your heart pumping. Kickboxing is an action-packed workout that combines a series of punching and kicking combinations along with body weight exercises to improve strength, muscle tone and endurance. Kettlebell and Core
Kettlebell exercises are whole-body exercises requiring full body integration and core stabilization. There is no such thing as isolated muscle work in Kettlebell training. This class will build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, core and lower body and increase coordination, joint mobility and overall endurance. Eight weeks. Min/Max: 4/25

HIIT, also known as High Intensity Interval Training, is great for muscle building, toning and weight loss. During this program, our certified HIIT instructor will be
leading you in circuits and will provide one at home workout for the days you are
not in the gym. Each workout will be a full body workout. The workouts are shorter, but you are sure to see results. All fitness levels are welcome! Six weeks.

Water workouts are a great way to increase your range of motion and are less stressful on joints and muscles than land exercises. Our Water Aerobics class, which is suitable for all fitness levels and ages, combines cardio conditioning, muscle toning and stretching. Buoyancy belts and hand weights are incorporated into each workout. Swimming skills are not required. Seven weeks. Interested in trying the class out before you pay, contact Renita at 815-234-6492. Ask your Dr. about Water Aerobics as an option for exercise after orthopedic surgeries.

Experience the benefits of the ancient science of Hatha Yoga at the Byron Park District. This class will be a mixed level Hatha Yoga for beginners and intermediate level students, both males and females. Yoga promotes good health, tones
muscles, and aids in increased flexibility and stamina as well as decreasing stress levels. Breathing techniques will be covered along with a 15-minute relaxation time
at the end of each class. Come and learn to relax the body and mind!

Middle School Weight Training Orientation     Download Flyer

7th & 8th grade boys and girls will be able to take an orientation class on weight training in the PE Center Weight Room. Individuals must register in advance.
Class size is restricted to 8 individuals per class. Once you successfully complete the 1 hour orientation class you will be allowed to purchase passes or pay the
daily admission to use the weight room when accompanied by an adult, 18 yrs & older and out of high school. Each accompanying adult, will only be allowed to supervise up to two (2) individuals at a time. Max: 8 individuals per date
