Introductory Spring Diving Clinic

This spring diving clinic introduces individuals to the sport of springboard diving. Beginner divers will learn the correct diving approach and the five basic dive positions (forward, backward, inward, reverse, and twist) in a fun non-competitive
atmosphere. The clinic will be instructed by Garry Cacciapaglia, who has over 12 years experience coaching high school and club divers and was voted the Illinois Swim Association’s 2008 Diving Coach of the year!   Min/Max: 4/10

Prerequisite: Ability to perform a regular forward dive off the diving board and swim to side of pool unassisted

Who: Individuals, 8 - 14 years old

April Swim Stroke Clinic

This two-week swimming program will be devoted to improving stroke mechanics of all four competitive strokes. Swimmers in this program should be able to perform all four competitive strokes before enrolling.

Who: Anyone, 6 years or older                      Days: Monday - Thursday

Sharks Pre-Team

The Sharks Pre-Team program was created to offer a transitional program between swim lessons and swim team. Pre-Team offers swimmers consistent practice time combined with swimming stroke drills in order to improve stroke form and endurance. Ideal for all swimmers in Advanced Level II swim lessons and above, who are interested in learning about the four competitive strokes, starts and turns. Note: Practices will be held in swim team format. Instructors/coaches will be in the water assisting swimmers with new skills.

Tiger Shark Swim Team

Tiger Sharks is an age-group swim team affiliated
with Illinois Swimming and United State Swimming Associations. Practices are divided into three different levels of ability and are designed to teach competitive stroke form and endurance. Calendars with exact practice dates/times along with swim meets will be given to all swimmers. Prerequisite: Swimmers must be at least 6 years old and be able to swim front & back crawl unassisted for 25 yards.

Ability Groups, Practice Times & Fees

Blue Group: Blue group is designed for beginning competitive swimmers. Practices will focus on the four competitive strokes, starts and turns.

White Group: This group is for those who have mastered the skills in the blue group and focuses on improving stroke technique and endurance.

Red Group: The red group is for the experienced competitive swimmer, age 13 and over. Swimmers in this group continue to improve technique and conditioning.

*Fee & Payment Information:
Since Tiger Sharks is a United States Swimming team, all participants are required to pay a yearly $60 USS Registration and Insurance Fee.
$10 Sibling Discount per session
Pro-rated session fees are only available for swimmers participating in school sports. Inquire at Park District.
Additional fees ($10 or $15) are charged for participation in swim meets.

Introductory Swim Team Splash

Learn what swim team is all about. This program is perfect for the individual who likes to swim, but isn’t sure if they want to join the swim team. Common practice skills and drills will be covered. This program is also ideal for individuals in swim lesson Levels III & IV.
