Registration Policy

All programs have a minimum and maximum enrollment number and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

The Park District may cancel, postpone, combine classes, or change instructors. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

The Park District reserves the right to cancel classes and make changes in the schedule and fees.

Mail-In Registration

Please mail registration at least seven days prior to the deadline/starting date of the program.

The Park District can not be held responsible for mail-in registrations not received or for classes filling up.

You will be notified about your registration ONLY if the program has been cancelled, changed or filled. If you would like to confirm your enrollment please wait one week and call 234-8435 between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or send a self addressed envelope with a written request for the receipt.

Payment

All program registration fees must be paid at the time of registration. NO EXCEPTIONS!

All payments must be made in the form of cash, check, credit card, debit card or money order.

We now accept credit or debit cards.  VISA, Mastercard, Discover & American Express! ! ! !

Waiting List

Many of our classes have registration limits. Because of facility space and staff limitations, we cannot always guarantee that we will have space for everyone. The Park District maintains waiting lists for classes that have reached their maximum registration and encourages everyone to be placed on a waiting list. Every attempt will be made to accommodate you by expanding the original class, creating a new class, or replacing persons who cancelled out of the class. No payment will be made if you are placed on the waiting list. Once space in the class is created, you will be notified, and the registration can be completed.

Late Registrations

After the registration deadline the Park District will determine if the class will be held or cancelled. Once this decision is made we will continue accepting registrations until the class or league is full.

Definition of Residency

If your permanent resident address is within the Byron Park District boundaries, you will be charged the resident rate. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, rental lease, voter’s registration, or tax-statement may be required.

Refunds & Cancellations

Before the first day of the program

A $5 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds except when a medical excuse is presented in writing or the Park District cancels a program. If a program is cancelled by the Park District, participants will receive a full refund.

After the start of the program

Refunds requested after the start of a program will be looked at on a case to case basis.

Trips

A refund will only be given for trips if money has not been committed for tickets, bus, etc., or the seat can be filled from a waiting list.

Tiger Den (AM,PM), Fun Zone, Summer Camp

These programs have their own cancellation/refund policies. Please refer to your parent handbook for more information.

Waiver Policy

All participants in our programs, leagues, classes and trips will be required to sign a participation waiver. Parents or guardians must sign for minor children.

Program Distractions

Our staff has found the quality of instruction is affected by sibling and parent distractions. With your child’s interest in mind we discourage you from bringing siblings to the class. If you must bring their sibling to the class please keep an eye on the child and do not allow them to run around the facility or to disrupt class. We also ask that parents silently observe the class or program, and save questions/comments until the end of class.

NSF Checks

Checks returned for non-sufficient funds may be assessed a service fee, depending on the bank service charges incurred. The service fee, if applicable, plus the cost of the program must be paid in cash before continuing any program from the park district.
