The Byron Park District was established in 1980 through a public referendum.  Since then, the Byron Park District has been committed to providing quality programs and facilities for the community by planning and maintaining effective and responsive recreation activities.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners

 On Wednesday, September 24, 2008 the Board of Commissioners of the BYRON PARK DISTRICT, Ogle County, Illinois, will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Jarrett Prairie Center at 7993 N River Rd, Byron, Illinois. The meeting is a Strategic Planning Session where the board plans to discuss Intergovernmental Cooperation, Land Acquisition/Development, Revenue Enhancement, Finance Options, Technology Enhancement, Space Needs (Office/Programs), Programming, 3-5 year plan, Mission Statement, Corporate Identity. The public may appear at said meeting if they wish and have an opportunity to comment.
